Named Apple Park, the new 175-acre campus looks like a spaceship. The new headquarters will host 12,000 people. It has working places, R&D facilities, visitor’s centers, an Apple Store, public cafe, a fitness center for employees of 100,000 sq.ft size, and an auditorium named Steve Jobs Theater with 1,000-seats.
The campus will cover 5 mn sq.ft area with 9,000 native drought-resistant trees and grassy fields replacing asphalt and concrete.
Apple Park will be powered 100% by renewable energy with 17 megawatts of rooftop solar panels. It will be one of the largest solar energy installations in the world till date. Apple Park should require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year being the world’s largest naturally ventilated building.
